
Furnace dome of 5/8" and 3/4" (1.588cm & 1.9cm) stainless steel.
Tight tolerances made this a complicated project,
as the dome involves non standard transitions.
The bottom diameter is 9 feet (2.74 meters).

These "super structures" hold aluminum ore fed into changing pots.
They also supply the positive electric charge and set the height
of the anode.

This is a flail.

Here are some samples of forming. We bent this plate on our press brake.


This magnesium reduction crucible was made from 2-1/2" (6.35cm)
steel. It is 8-1/2 feet (2.6m) in diameter and about 9 feet high.
The flange was burned from 4-1/2" (11.4 cm) steel.
The finished product weighs 20 tons (18,000 kg).
